More rain overnight will give another (small?) rise.……………………

Conditions.

A band of rain & showers passed rapidly through the catchment in the early hours of this morning from the southwest.

This was the radar picture at 05.00 this morning.

By 08.30 the backend of the rain bans was moving past the top of the catchment.

It’s a wild wet & windy morning here at 08.00. This will be followed by some light rain Wednesday & possibly heavier rain Thursday according to Met Eireann 5 Day Forecast. High pressure then builds over Ireland & it should be dry from Friday right through the weekend.

The upper river at Millstreet (80km upstream of the Lodge) was dropping until 06.00 – and is now rising once more.

This was the lower river at 08.00 this morning. It peaked at 0.97m at 02.00 this morning & is currently still dropping. It is at 0.89m at 08.00.

Water temperature at    Ballyduff: 8.4ºC / 47.2ºF @ 08.00.

Water temperature at Killavullen: 7.7ºC / 45.9ºF @ 08.00.

Prospects.
The river is in good spinnable order today & the clarity is OK. It is out of fly order once more for today. High (3.8m) tides continue until today which may help to move fish in.
