An 80cm rise peaks on the upper river this morning!

The river below the Lodge at 11.00 today with the gauge at 0.79m

Conditions.
It’s a bright sunny morning here again today. The forecast is dry for today & tomorrow with two bands of rain coming in for Saturday & Sunday, but which should pass north of our catchment with only some light/moderate  rain expected here. Another cool night tonight & then getting milder into the weekend.

The rain didn’t have as much effect on the river as might have been expected. The upper river at Millstreet has risen 80cm peaking at 05.15 this morning.

The level of the middle river at Killavullen (37km upstream of the Lodge) is up 60cm at 10.15 this morning & still rising.

The lower river at Ballyduff is also up to 0.73m at 08.30 this morning from 0.55m last night. Clarity is ~3ft with sedimenty colour which may fall out quickly.

Water temperature at    Ballyduff: 8.5ºC / 47.4ºF @ 11.00 today.
Water temperature at Killavullen:  7.2 – 6.8ºC / 44.6 - 43.8ºF @ 11.00.

Prospects.
The river will not be fly-fishable today & probably tomorrow due to the height but should be good for spinning even today as the clarity is not too bad. It will also depend on how much more rain falls early Saturday morning.
