The river below the Lodge at 18.00 peaking at 1.10m
Conditions.
It was a dry cool
breezy day here today. The forecast is dry for tomorrow with broken weather
over the weekend & into the start of the week with probably only light
rain. Another cool night tonight & then getting milder into the weekend. High
pressure building from early next week with the second half of the week looking
dry.
The level of the middle river at Killavullen (37km upstream of the Lodge) peaked at 2.07m at 13.00 & is now falling fast. It’s down to 1.79m at 19.45
The lower river at Ballyduff peaked at 1.10m at 19.30 this evening. Clarity is ~3ft with sedimenty colour which will fall out quickly.
Water temperature
at Ballyduff: 8.5ºC / 47.4ºF @ 11.00
today.
Water temperature at Killavullen: 6.8 – 7.4ºC / 44.2 – 45.3ºF @ 11.00.
Water temperature at Killavullen: 6.8 – 7.4ºC / 44.2 – 45.3ºF @ 11.00.
Prospects.
The river should be
fly-fishable from tomorrow upriver albeit rather high. It will be excellent for
spinning throughout as the clarity is rather good. Probably too high for the fly on the lower
river for the next couple of days.
