The level of the middle river at Killavullen (37km upstream of the Lodge) had stabilized at 1.40m until 16.30 today & rose just 1cmk this evening. Clarity is about 6+ feet.
The lower river at Ballyduff also stabilized – holding at 0.55m all day.
Clarity is 6+ feet.
Water temperature at Ballyduff: 8.5ºC / 47.4ºF @ 21.15 today.
Water temperature at Killavullen: 8.4 – 8.0ºC / 47.2 -46.4ºF @ 21.15.
Catches.
Springer No: 8 was caught today by Mark Roser.
It was sea-liced & weighed 8lb.
He caught it on spinner on the Island Stream on Lower Kilmurry.
There were a few other fish seen on the Kilmurry beats as well today.
Prospects.
The river was in absolutely excellent order for both fly & spinning throughout today.
It remains to see how the rain forecast towards the end of the week will affect the river. At the moment, the river continues to improve steadily & is fining down to superb order, especially for the fly.
